Tiny Dancer and Fried Chicken 5/17/11

Karina had her little ballet recital Tuesday evening. Michael’s Mom had just gotten here from New York that afternoon so Michael picked Conrad up a little early from school and we were off. Karina did such a cute job, so did the other little girls! The school had tutus for the girls to use and hair pieces for them to keep. (we were asked on to film or take pictures during the recital, though I am still not sure why!)

So here is a cute story from during the recital: All the girls got to pick an animal out of a basket for a dance. The girls did a cute dance with the animals like they were babies, rocking them and holding them up high in the air to one side while they pointed the opposite foot. The first time they held up their babies, Karina’s was a little giraffe, Karina’s was upside down. “Oops” she mouthed and turned it right side up. Then, noticing that was a silly little thing to do, turned it upside down again and shook it! What a HAM! she loved dance and is such a cute tiny dancer!

There were refreshments after the recital for the families and the girls. It was so sweet! Karina is excited to go back this fall!

After the recital we were leaving and I decided that instead of going home and having a late dinner (cause I had not started anything due to last minute cleaning for our company) we would go out for dinner. Debbie had said what she really wanted to do while she was here is go to a really good fried chicken place. Michael asked around and was told http://stroudsrestaurant.com/north.html was the place to go! and boy was it ever!

While we waited for our table we walked down to the pond and looked at their swan, ducks and turtles. The kids loved them. Silly Debbie, was sure the swan was going to come right out of the water and bite us!

Karina loved the horse statue and all of the fountains on the grounds!

The food was awesome! No one told us it was family style so we ordered enough for two complete dinner meals! Lesson learned, one order feeds like three or four people! You have got to love a place where their t-shirts say, “We Choke our Own Chickens!” We have to take Mom and Dad to this place soon!
