All most there...

Today 5-27-10 Alexander hit a few mile stones!

He got taken off heated air in his incubator and is now on room temperature air. He is doing a great job at holding his temperature. It will be a day or so and he will get to move to an open crib!

He got his PICC line out and is on no more meds!

His nursing feeds got bumped up to every other feed. So, four times a day (I get to leave the 3am feeding to the nurses for now) and the other feeds are done through his IG tube in his nose that goes down to his tummy. It is a lot of hard work for him to nurse and it tuckers him out but as the day progressed he improved his times and is up to 25 minutes. his doctor said as soon as he can stay awake and is not too tired to nurse at all of his feedings we can go home. He estimates less than a week!
I will be happy to get to go home and out of the closet that I am now staying in. I can not complain too much cause it does have a bed. TV and a bathroom with a a sink and a toilet. It is better than driving up here four times a day and living in the waiting room.
